Europe Venture Summit Set to Rock the Ukraine with Startup Addventure (December 4-5, 2013)

By: Paul Chen

For a long time, Europe was known for their wonderful rock music festivals like Rock Werchter in Belgium, T in the Park and Poland's own Open'er in Gdynia.  These days, a new wave of festivals are making a splash world wide.  They are the startup festivals such as Startup weekends, Pioneer Festival, Startup Safari, and Europe Venture Summit.

This year, they are bringing out the big guns.  They are bringing in a whole line-up of who's who of startup celebrities to inspire those in attendance who have great ideas and a dream to realize them.  Who is there this year?  You will have: Dave McClure of 500 Startups, Mike Butcher of TechCrunch, Ben Rooney of Wall Street Journal, Alexander Galitsky of Almaz Capital, Krakow's own Piotr Wiliam from Innovation Nest, and many others.

As a participant, you will be able to mingle with over 3000 other entrepreneurs including VC's, angel investors, administrators from incubators and accelerators from the Ukraine, CIS, Europe and the US.  Think of the speed mentoring event from a previous post on steroids.  The goal of the event is to bring everyone together under "a big tent" and promote collaboration as well as educate and inspire people to do even bigger things.

During the two day conference, entrepreneurs will be able to take part in different themed workshops covering: early stage investing, mobile, e-commerce, pitching, growth hacking, design, fin-tech, new media, and gaming.

There will be a startup competition looking for the best European startup of 2013.  The prize is 25,000 Euros. Along with the prize, your startup also gets lots of free publicity and connections.  More information can be found on the event website.

The event will take place on December 4-5, 2013 at the Olympic Stadium, , the site of the Euro 2012 final in Kiev, Ukraine.   Attendance is free.  However, entrepreneurs will need to purchase tickets to take part in workshops.  Booth space and tables are still available to accelerators and other vendors.  The stadium is located next to a dedicated metro station linking it to the city center.  There are also many luxury hotels near by.  More information can be found on the event website
